Pet food is typically sold in pet stores and supermarkets. It is usually specific to the type of pet.

Bird food is food is often varieties of seeds. We generally make or buy bird food to feed to pet birds or use in birdfeeders. The choice of what to use as birdfood depends on the species of bird being fed.

Cat food is food manufactured for consumption by cats from the age range of just a few months. Although cats are carnivores, most commercial cat food contains both animal and plant material, supplemented with vitamins, minerals and other nutrients.

Dog food is plant or animal material intended for consumption by dogs or other canines. Special dog foods given as a reward, and not as a staple, are known as dog treats.

Fish food is plant or animal material intended for consumption by pet fish kept in aquariums or ponds. Fish foods normally contain macro nutrients, trace elements and vitamins necessary to keep captive fish in good health. Fish food can be in flake, pellet or tablet form.
